Fancy Yarn: Creative Textures and Unique Designs

Special results from spinning, twisting, wrapping, texturizing, and knitting, among other processes, are fancy yarns. Because woven, knitted, and other textiles have a unique aesthetic and high ornamental appeal, there is a demand for yarns with structural and/or optical properties. Textile materials with effects, created with yarns, are used in both regular and couture apparel.

In order to set themselves apart from traditionally spun or multifilament yarns, fancy yarns have purposefully added irregular properties, such as bulk and/or color, as well as virtually novel structures made of fibers, yarns, or other materials.
